The Lawrence Lader papers, 1948-1994, consist of manuscripts, notes, correspondence, memoranda, surveys, court documents, news clippings, and sound recordings resulting from Lader's activities as an abortion rights and family planning advocate in the United States during the mid to late 20th century. The collection also includes several pamphlets, press clippings, and notes chronicling Lader's publications on abortion, RU-486, birth control, and overpopulation. Additional correspondence and related records illustrate Lader's leadership as chair of the National Abortion Rights Action League and president of Abortion Rights Mobilization.

Author and activist Lawrence Lader (1919- ) has written extensively on abortion rights and family planning in the United States. He was founding chair of the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws (now the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) in 1969, and was instrumental in the campaign that produced the 1970 New York State law legalizing abortion.
